ICAR-CIFRI, Prayagraj organized training for 20 fish farmers of Bihar

ATMA-sponsored training program on fish production cum residential Itineracy inaugurated at ICAR-CIFRI, Prayagraj
The ICAR–Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute (CIFRI), Regional Centre, Prayagraj, organised a five-day ATMA-sponsored training programme on “Fish production cum residential Itineracy” during 24–28 November 2025 at Prayagraj. A total of 20 fish farmers from Samsatipur, Bihar, attended the programme. The inaugural session was held on 24th November, 2025, in the presence of Dr B.K.Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI, who graced the occasion as the chairman of the inaugural function. In his inaugural address, Dr B.R. Chavan, Head of Center welcomed all the participants from ATMA Samastipur, Bihar. He has given brief introduction of the center and explained the intentions to conduct the training program.
Dr B.K. Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI, Barakpore assured to trainees to get all the required information, technical knowledge and support to develop their skills in the field of inland fisheries from the CIFRI. The programme was coordinated by Dr V R Thakur, Sr.Scientist and Dr A.Alam, Senior Scientist of the Centre, under the overall guidance of Dr B.K. Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI, Barrackpore, and Dr B.R.Chavan, Head of Regional Centre, Prayagraj. The programme will give detailed knowledge on the present status of the Inland Fisheries, composite fish culture, Value addition in inland fisheries, Ornamental fisheries importance, fish diseases, soil & water parameters, etc, in the inland fisheries sector in the next five days.
